Notice: More Info Coming Soon !!!
I will be posting some information and links related to my personalization session over the next couple days. Even if you weren't in Chicago you'll find it helpful so you'll just have to come back for it.
Beanstalk @ SES Chicago 2007
Beanstalk CEO Dave Davies will be speaking at SES Chicago 2007. In San Jose Dave spoke on Personalization and on how to be a search marketer. In Chicago he'll be digging deeper into these topics.
The sessions are at:
December 5, @ 10:15-11:15 - Personalization, User Data & Search
December 6 @ 9:00 - 10:00 - So You Want To Be A Search Marketer?
As personalization is a huge topic and one which Dave has an enormous personal interest in this should be a very exciting show.
You can be sure that on Thurday afternoon after his speaking session he will also be hosting his weekly radio show on Webmaster Radio live from the conference and might (just might) get a few great interviews in while he's there.
Beanstalk Blog Posts From SES Chicago 2007

SES Chicago, Day 4 Coverage
Today was the final day of regular events at SES Chicago 2007, and we had some great sessions. A lot of attention was paid to CPC and the nitty-gritty of keyword strategy issues as you'll see below in our roundup of day 4 SES coverage from Chicago, December 6.
SES Chicago, Day 3 Coverage
Welcome back to our day 3 wrap-up of coverage at SES Chicago 2007. Today was a big day for PPC and paid links issues, with strong attention on SEM for retailers and strategies for pitching upper-level management on SEM principles. The coverage is high-quality and has some great analysis, but if you're looking for more information on a session you didn't get to or don't have comprehensive notes on, remember your show booklet has an access code to the presenters' slides, which we'll be posting to the site soon. See you for SES Chicago Day 4 tomorrow!
SES Chicago, Day 2 Coverage
Tuesday's coverage at SES Chicago was even greater than yesterday's. The big stories today were Seth Godin's Meatball Sundae presentation and Local Search; read on for our listing of the full Search Engine Strategies coverage.
SES Chicago, Day 1 Coverage

Search Engine Strategies Paris; Introducing the SES Forum
The SES Paris event has been moved to January 15th and 16th. We have made this change for a few key reasons.
Primarily, we wanted to house the event in a more central location to make it easier for delegates to attend in an environment that's excellent for networking as well.
The Paris event will represent the first in a series of events created by the SES team that are specifically designed to deliver a learning and networking environment with a limited number of attendees, no expo hall and limited sponsorships. We call this event series the SES Forum.
While the Conference and Expo series will continue in its existing format in London, New York, Toronto, San Jose and Chicago we are very excited to introduce the SES Forum format in response to numerous suggestions by our blogging community, delegates and SES faculty.
Other SES events around the world will follow this format and announcements will be forthcoming. I'd like to thank the SES faculty, bloggers and our delegates for contributing their thoughts and ideas.
We still have a limited number of spots for speaking, so please feel free to drop us a note if you are interested!
The SES Chicago 2007 conference at a glance has been posted.
A big thank you to everyone that contacted us with new sessions for SES Chicago. The responses were a bit overwhelming and we were impressed by the sheer volume of requests.
We have now reviewed every submission and are contacting speakers who submittted. From now until the week of October 14th we will be accepting speaker requests for the current agenda.
In response to numerous SES Faculty and delegate requests, we have refined many of the tactical sessions and added more sessions with a strategic focus.
Don't be shy about stepping up to request a speaker slot. Many speakers have already approached us with new case studies and solid fresh content.
With an incredible line-up of keynotes, the addition of the "Orion" panel concept and full conference registrations ahead of last year's event, we are all very excited about making Chicago '07 a great event!
SES Chicago 2007, Paris and Beyond
Chicago will have SES content and ClickZ tracks alongside content delivered by The Kelsey Group's local expertise.
This year's Paris event promises to be an exciting forum for search thought leaders and movers and shakers. SES will have search marketing focused tracks at A4U in London and ILM Local in Los Angeles.
Of course, there are going to be a few changes around here, the least of which includes some changes to the speaker submission process. In order to accommodate the sheer volume of requests to speak at these events, we have created a speaker submission form and updated the speaker guidelines.
As promised, here are the timelines for speaker/ content proposals for the remainder of 2007:
Chicago: December 3-7, 2007
New content suggestions: August 28th - September 14th
Conference sessions will be posted the week of September 16th
Existing content speaker submissions/ requests: September 16th - October 12th
Final speaker selections will be completed the week of October 14th and no speaker requests for Chicago will be accepted after October 12th. Please note that proposed sessions may be channeled into a panel format in order to give exposure and analysis of a wider variety of speakers and approaches. In fact, your overall chances of acceptance are greater if you are willing to participate on a panel.
Paris: November 27-28, 2007
We have a limited number of speaking opportunities for this event and are accepting proposals now through October 12th.
SES @ A4U: October 25-26, 2007
There are also a limited number of speaker slots open for the SES track at A4U. If you would like to participate in this event, please submit content ideas and speaker requests no later than September 14th.
SES Local @ ILM:07: November 28-30, 2007
We are very excited to partner with The Kelsey Group and have a few slots left to speak in Los Angeles. Please send your requests in no later than October 12th.

See you in San Jose!
We have been very busy here at SES
In addition to the redesigns of SearchEngineWatch and ClickZ we have been hard at work on the event front... keep on reading for clarification on some of our recent SES announcements...
First of all, we announced today a new SES event on October 25 and 26 in London alongside our friends at affiliates4u and the a4uexpo. The SES team will be programming one track ? about five sessions ? on the second day of this 4-track, 2-day affiliate powerhouse of a show. Please visit the event site for more information. This event is for all those who just can?t wait until our next London event in February 2008. Enjoy ? it will be a great two days!
Speaking of London, please join me in officially welcoming Mike Grehan as the new host of our SES London event. A longtime SES speaker, ClickZ contributing editor and member of the search community, Mike will host our London 2008 event, to be held at the Business Design Center in February. In this capacity Mike will be responsible for programming the sessions alongside Kevin Ryan.
Last, but not at all least, is our SES San Jose event this August 20 ? 23. This show is shaping up quite nicely as Danny and Chris have been very busy building out the agenda. We are featuring 2 keynotes at this event ? Jim Lanzone from Ask.com and Marissa Mayer from Google. In addition Google will be hosting the much-anticipated Google Dance party on Tuesday, August 21, and WebMasterRadio.FM will be hosting the SearchBash on Wednesday evening (details to come) ? both of these should not be missed. Kevin Ryan will also be making an appearance at the event. He has programmed the ClickZ track on Day 1 ? be sure to stop by, as it will serve as a taste of what to expect in Chicago this December (it will be different ? lots of new search content and formats).
That?s it for now; we are off to the SES Travel launch event in Seattle today and then back to our desks to work up a few more surprise announcements in the next couple of weeks. Then it's off once again to Boston for a full day of dedicated SEM training (this is filling up fast by the way). Thank you for sticking it out with us this last year ? it has been an interesting ride. Looking back at it from our current vantage point, I must say, the teams here at ClickZ, SEW and SES have done an amazing job keeping everything together, and we look forward to a bright future ? full of fresh and timely content, as well as strong networking opportunities with many of our old friends and some new faces as well.
SES San Jose Speaking Openings Posted
I've posted a list of sessions with openings at the SES San Jose 2007 conference. The openings are listed about midway down this post of guidelines—please read the guidelines before sending a pitch.
UPDATE: All speaking openings have been filled for SES San Jose. I'm in the process of getting back to everyone who pitched; please wait until the end of next week to contact me if you haven't heard anything by then.
SES Toronto & Latino Edition 2007 - wrap ups
SES Toronto and SES Latino Edition 2007 are now both behind us and I wanted to say a quick thank you to all involved. Our hosts, Andrew Goodman and Chris Sherman (SES Toronto) and Nacho Hernandez (SES Latino Edition), sponsors, exhibitors and delegates all came together for two 2-day events on opposite ends of North America and all seemed to go home with a better understanding of the industry, how to use Search to grow their businesses and more? ? thank you, it has been a pleasure to work with you all.
There were quite a few announcements made at both events, I tried to summarize it all for everyone below ? enjoy.
SES Travel - Keynote Announcement
It is with great pleasure that I can announce Nancy Ramamurthi, Chief Marketing Officer at SideStep.com, as the Keynote Speaker for SES Travel 2007 to be held in Seattle, WA on July 26th & 27th. Nancy, whose background includes leadership positions at eBay, Yahoo!, Coca Cola, Kraft Foods and Pfizer will be speaking about the intersection of Internet Search and the Travel Industry.
The Keynote is scheduled for July 26th at 4PM.
