The second, and perhaps most important reason a good design is important is that high search engine rankings are relatively unimportant if your website does not sell your product and/or service.

We've had nothing but good experiences with Moonrrise Design since first working with them on a common project in the fall of 2007. We've recommended them many times and our clients have been happy we did. Easily our top recommendation in design for most projects.

Atomic Crayon Web Design: Victoria, BC
Atomic Crayon Web Design, also out of Victoria, BC offers full service web design services and CMS integration for some of the biggest companies in BC. We've had the opportunity to work with them on a couple project and have been very happy with the quality of design they have provided their clients and their dedication.

LogoWorks.com Logo Design
Logo Works is a branch of HP (so you know it's got a big name behind it). Their designs are excellent (at least the ones we've seen) and the pricing (from $299) seems very reasonable. Their prodocts range from logo design and business cards to websites and promotional products. They have multiple designers working on projects which implies that you'll get multiple takes on your needs and their system seems streamlined to save time. This may not be the option for those wishing to spend hours of their time chatting with their designer on the phone or in their office but for those who know what they want and simply want a professional company to create unique designs around their corporate image, LogoWorks would be an excellent choice.
