Proud Of Our Awards So We’re Blogging It … Oh The Irony

Today is April 1st. Apart from Google changing their name to Topeka and my kids running off with dreams of changing teacher’s pen colors – it’s a lot like most days before except that we get the honor of again making Top SEO’s list of the best firms in a variety of categories. This month we made the grade in the following categories:

    • SEO
    • Link Building
    • Content Creation
    • SEO Training
    • PPC Management

Of course we’ve very pleased to be including in this list and proud that our dedication to our clients and ethical SEO techniques is recognized. Thanks to Top SEO’s for once again including us.

Okay – that that was the good news of the day – now the bad news. Those who use Blogger’s FTP function (including your truly) have one month to find a new solution. Google will not be supporting FTP for Blogger after May 1st.

We’ve been looking into various solutions and will let you know when we lock down the one we’ll be implementing. And one last time – I’m not impressed Google. While only the minority of us use the FTP function I’ll bet that if we only count legitimate blogs (as opposed to splogs) that percentage is much higher. But alas – our hands are tied and our blog will be pulled out of Blogger – I just haven’t figured out where it’s going to go yet.

But did I mention that we won an award? :)
(wanted to end this post on a high note)

Just A Day For Awards !

For those of you who don’t know – we’re a Canadian company and as such, well – let’s just say that yesterday was a good day. :) For anyone out there who’s had a big brother who just seems to be better at almost everything and looks be be about to take the one thing you’re best at and even invented – well, you’ll know what I mean. :)

As the Olympics closed and I personally beamed at all the Gold Canada took home (or I guess “kept home” would be the correct way of saying it) I was surprised with some additional awards.

This morning when I walked into work and checked my emails I discovered that Beanstalk has been awards top 10 in the following categories by Top SEO’s:

    • Search Engine Optimization
    • Link Building
    • Content Creation
    • SEO Training

Thanks to everyone for making the past 2 days so very awards filled. :)

    Affiliate Convention & Top SEO’s

It’s 8:43PM on a beautiful Thursday evening in LA. I popped back to my room to check emails before heading off to Affiliate Bash here at Affiliate Convention. Despite a few stress points that worked themselves out due to the dedication of the organizers that show is going extremely well and I’d hope to see continued growth for this convention as they head to Denver next.

I had the opportunity to moderate a panel for the first time today at 9:15 on Alternative Traffic for affiliates (focusing mainly on social media). The panel was very entertaining. Some take-a-ways … use Twitter. :) I’ve avoided diving head-long into Tweeting due mainly to viewing it more as yet another time sucking activity and yet – some very compelling arguments were made for it as a great branding tool. Heck, I might even be converted. I have the twitter account @beanstalkseo – I just don’t use it much yet but the ability to provide instant updates to client, the community, etc. – heck, it just might save time overall.

They served a good lunch, the trade show floor was busy (great for the exhibitors and they’re why affiliates get in free :) .

I did my session in the afternoon on SEO for Affiliate sites. For those interested you can download my slide show via PDF here. Basically – the problem that many affiliates encounter is being too blatant and not providing real value in their sites. Create a resource that happens to include affiliate links and you’ll do MUCH better on Google (and convert better too).

Tomorrow I’ll have more time to attend various sessions. I only got to three and look forward to catching more tomorrow.

    In other news …

I also have to take this moment to note (tooting our own horn) that once more Beanstalk has been awarded Best Of awards for December in the following areas:

    So all-in-all … it’s a good day.

    Happy 2009 !!!

2009 has started off great thanks to Advanced Web Ranking and Top SEOs. Advanced Web Ranking made it a great morning by providing me with the monthly ranking reports for a number of our clients. So I suppose it isn’t *really* Advanced Web Ranking so much as a great team of dedicated SEOs and link builders who made that a great experience but I’ve got enough happiness to go around.

And Top SEOs helped make it a great morning by once again handing us two awards:

As with Advanced Web Ranking – I suppose it’s more our great staff that I have to thank for these awards but I’ll do that when I get back from holidays … for now I’ll thank Top SEOs for recognizing our hard work and presenting us with this honor.

And a big thanks to you as well – our blog readers and clients. We grew teremendously in 2008 and I’m looking forward to growing with you through 2009. Watch for some big changes to our blog frequency and free SEO tools in the near future.

    A Reminder

Don’t forget to change the copyright date on your websites.

    Beanstalk Wins

Well it’s always nice to be recognized and so winning two awards in the same month for different categories of SEO is a pretty good feeling. The TopSEO.com awards came out and we get two of them, one of the top SEO training companies and one of the top organic optimization companies. Since we don’t do PPC – we’re pretty happy with those results. :)

    View The Results:

    Best in Organic Optimization
Beanstalk ranked #7 in Canada for best organic optimization. I have a hunch that the fact that we don’t list off our clients (never have, never will) played against us there but it’s nice to be recognized without having to. Perhaps it’s our own rankings that tipped us over the top. ;)

    Best In SEO Training
In the SEO training category we ranked #5. Not too shabby for our first pop onto the radar in the awards.

All-in-all we’d like to extend a big thanks to TopSEOs.com for appreciating the effort we put into our campaigns and our training. Of course, we won’t let it go to our heads – we still need to produce the results to insure we get higher in the award results and of course, to insure we don’t ahve to pay back our guaranteed clients. :)
