All I'm Going To Say Is ...

I could write a long blog post, in fact - today it's going to be over 1000 words. That includes the fact that it has an image and that image is, of course, worth 1000 words.

I happened to be looking through some news on Beanstalk (good to check how people are talking about you periodically) and found one that pointed to a past blog post I wrote on PageRank and a discussion I got into on Sphinn about it). But it's not the discussion that I found humorous this evening - it's the AdSense.

The full post (which you can read here if you're so inclined) was on a PageRank debate. Here's an image of what I saw as far as AdSense on the page.

Poor AdSense relevancy.Take a peek at those AdSense ads.

All I'm going to say is, relevancy anyone?

A New Article

Inspired by a combination of an excellent research paper from Richard Stokes of AdGooroo, Google's Q2 earnings report and the recent happenings in the now getting tiring story of Yahoo! and Microsoft - the most recent article by Beanstalk's Dave Davies is out today. Titled, "The Search Landscape Reflected In Paid Results" it discussed some of the recent changes, how they're affecting the search engines themselves and what we can expect to see in the paid and organic results because of this.

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

A Big Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Teli Davies !!!Well we're going to go off on a slightly personal tangent here so that I can wish a very happy birthday to my now 10-year-old boy Teli. Ah the joy of birthdays. My personal joy was waking up to him enjoying his new gift - an electric guitar. :)

So now there may be something that can pull him away from the computer though, once he realizes how expensive new equipment is I imagine he'll get back to working on his Pokemon pictures website or some other fad to reap the AdSense revenue (ah, brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it). :)

Happy birthday little buddy and thanks for 10 great years.

TGIF

Well, it's Friday. I still have many hours of work ahead of me to get taken care of tonight and through the weekend and yet I can't help but be happy to see a couple days of reduced time frames arrive and perhaps an opportunity to help my eldest work on his website (he's 9 and will likely be taking over the business in a couple year ;) (I am kidding)

Note: when he realized that he was actually getting traffic to his site on Pokemon his first question was, "Can I make money from that?" My reply: "It's called Google AdSense and yes you can." He's now getting hundreds of visitors per day and makes more in AdSense revenue on his Pokemon site than Beanstalk does on it's blog. I'd be disgruntled if I wasn't so darn proud. :)

Unless there's some HUGE breaking news I try to leave our visitors with something fun to head into the weekend. Well this week's Dilbert comics provided just that opportunity.

For those of you who don't use secure passwords (and you know who you are) these are for you. And as a warning, hackers are even smarter than Dogbert. :)
