In a recent article by fellow SEO Jim Hedger, he points out that now is the time to get started on your Christmas-related terms and to start working on your rankings for the Christmas season.
Too often those of us in the SEO world are called in November with the request, "I'd like to rank for "christmas gifts" and of course, I'll need to be on the first page by the end of the month to take advantage of the holiday buying spree." Unfortunately for them, they'll have to leave disappointed unless their coming to us with a well established site that just needs some onsite optimization and is already ranking for "gifts".
